Out PER4M™ the rest
This page provides a background to our trademarked PER4M™ Management Assessment
Programme (MAP) and our standalone service evaluation product, Customer PER4M™.
PER4M™ Management Assessment Programme (MAP)
PER4M™ MAP is our trademarked assessment and evaluation programme which utilises
recognised best practice to evaluate the 'building blocks' of your Management
System. By utilising the PER4M™ diagnostic tools, we can help you identify the
key areas for improvement. PER4M™ MAP can help you achieve business excellence
and facilitates a scoring system to benchmark your organisation. The result is a
more efficient, more effective operation.
The PER4M™ Model has been developed from well-established Business Excellence
principles using key performance measures that will help your organisation to
stand out from the rest.
The PER4M™ MAP will enable your organisation to:
• Assess and evaluate the efficiency of your organisation's Management System.
• Highlight the strengths and any weaknesses within your organisation.
• Help you prioritise areas for improvement and lead you towards business
excellence
• Provide you with a structured plan for continuous improvement

The Principles in Practice
Using PER4M™ MAP to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your organisation’s
Management System, you can identify the key areas for improvement and
concentrate your efforts for rapid improvements. The key areas for assessment
and evaluation include your:
• Strategic Leadership
• Decision making
• Tactical Management
• People development
• Management of processes
• Continuous improvement
• Customer focus
• Supplier relationships
The Measures
Performance within these key areas is reviewed and verified using a scoring
matrix. Dependent on your Management System’s performance, your organisation can
achieve the award levels of Silver, Gold and Platinum.
The assessment and evaluation process consists of:
1. The key elements of each management area are assessed.
2. Scores are achieved by meeting criteria within the area.
3. Overall scores are assigned to each area.
4. The overall combined management system score is calculated.
5. A report containing scores and areas identified for improvement is provided.
6. A certificate is provided to organisations achieving a ‘Silver level’ or
above.
Case Study: UK Trade & Investment
'Passport' is UK Trade & Investment’s flagship assessment and skills-based
programme that provides new and inexperienced exporters with the training,
planning and ongoing support they need to succeed overseas.
Following competitive tender, we were selected to design and manage the Passport
Accreditation System (PAS), with the remit of measuring and evaluating the
performance of export services from the Government’s business support agencies.
Since its launch in 2002, the PAS has evolved into a sophisticated web based
monitoring system for ensuring the effective delivery and management of the
Passport programme.
Today the PAS has developed into a comprehensive web-enabled monitoring tool
that is used by all nine UK Regions and Overseas Trade Posts creating a
worldwide online community. The comprehensive live statistics module is utilised
at Ministerial level and provides the source data for official reports regarding
the growth of UK exports.
What they said...
“We have found the British Accreditation Bureau (BAB) to be flexible, responsive
and highly professional in dealing with the many changes that have been required
at short notice; often incorporating small changes without charge. We would not
hesitate in recommending the services of BAB, they have proved exceptional in
their delivery.”

Customer PER4M™
You may not want to undergo the full PER4M™ MAP process but measuring your
customers’ satisfaction and assessing the likelihood of recommendation, are
musts for all organisations.
Using elements of the PER4M™ Model, we develop the most suitable questions to
ask your customers and then conduct sample telephone surveys with them. From
your client’s responses, we calculate your organisation’s unique COR Rating™
(Customer Opinion Response Rating) and provide you with a ‘Business Performance
Chart’, which charts your strengths and any weaknesses in an easy to read
graphical format. If your organisation’s COR Rating™ scores above 55% you could
