About Us
Today, quality isn’t an option, it’s a necessity. Whether
your organisation is in the Public sector, Private sector, is a charity or you
serve a membership, your clients want to be sure they’re in safe hands.
No matter what your marketing says about you, successful organisations recognise
that their quality and its assurance is most credible when validated by a
respected third party.
The benefits include a more motivated workforce, less re-work and increased
client satisfaction. Being accredited can also help you to gain external
finance, qualify for tenders and set you apart from your competitors.
My team and I are committed to helping our clients progress and achieve
outstanding results through the application of quality standards and management
best practice.
Whatever the assignment, we believe in working with our clients as true
partners. Our maxim ‘without fear or favour’ typifies our ethical approach to
such partnerships; we will never allow the fear of consequences or the promise
of favour to influence our professional judgement.
I hope you find our website helpful and that we have the opportunity of working
with you in the future.
David Fenn
Chief Executive
Company Background
Our reputation was established in 1965 as a division of Salford University
Business Services. In 1997, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry
approved the use of the word ‘British’ in our new corporate title (The British
Accreditation Bureau), in recognition of our pre-eminent status.
Today, our core business is the accreditation of people, services and
organisations. We certify organisations to the latest ISO standards and design
and manage bespoke accreditation schemes. Such schemes are based on the
establishment of standards, which can be developed to be recognised
company-wide, industry-wide, nationally or internationally.
We provide our clients with customer satisfaction survey data services and at a
more integrated level, we can help organisations to improve their customer
retention and business performance by utilising our PER4M™ Total Service model.
We have undertaken consultancy projects for a large range of clients in both the
Public and Private sectors, with professional institutes, trade bodies and
charities.
We are active in the area of setting national standards and are expert
contributors to the influential British Standards Institute ‘QS/1’ Committee.
This committee is charged with the responsibility for representing the UK in all
new standards proposed to the International Standards Organisation (ISO).
We are also represented on the panel of judges for the European Foundation of
Quality Management’s (EFQM) ‘Business Excellence Award’. We are externally
verified annually and have been a recognised ‘Investor in People’ since 1999.
Above all else, we believe it is essential that we work with our clients as a
true partner. Our maxim ‘without fear or favour’ typifies our ethical approach
to such partnerships; we will never allow the fear of consequences or the
promise of favour to influence our professional judgement.
Our Approach
Our client work usually begins with a review of the current situation and a
'gap' analysis to recognised best practice. Over the years we have done this
hundreds of times and have developed a model we call PER4M™ which has proven
beneficial in smoothing the management of change.
PER4M™ helps us to evaluate the 'ingredients' of People and Resources and
ensures the 'recipe' of Endeavours and Management are balanced and that the
organisation is forward looking.
